Why are you in admissions at Gonzaga?
From the first students and families I worked with as an Admission Counselor, I fell in love with the relationships built and the opportunities I’ve had to help students realize their higher education dreams at a university that both challenges and supports them. I am especially passionate about working with students who are the first in their families to attend college, and I find the energy of high school and college students as they discover their passions to be invigorating. I feel blessed to work where I do and to provide guidance for students and families at a very exciting but also challenging time of their lives.

Where is your favorite place on campus?
Between the Martin Centre and the PACCAR Center for Applied Science there is an overlook where one can see downtown Spokane, the Riverfront Park Clock Tower and Pavilion, the Spokane River, the Centennial Trail and many of Gonzaga’s athletic fields and buildings. I love the view from there and how close campus is to downtown amenities, internships, events, etc.

What is your favorite thing to do in Spokane?
As a theatre lover, one of my favorite things to do is to attend the  Best of Broadway  plays and other performances at the INB Performing Art Center. For example, I’ve seen  WickedThe Lion KingThe Book of Mormon, and  Phantom of the Opera, but my favorite was  Les Misérables.

What is one piece of advice you have for prospective students?
Three R’s: Give yourself some time to REFLECT on the attributes you want in your future college, what you may like to study, and how you are going to prepare yourself to get there (academically, emotionally, financially—filling out Financial Aid forms and applying for scholarships, etc.) RESEARCH schools and programs that interest you, and be sure to REACH OUT to admission representatives at the schools you are considering. We want to be helpful to you in your process!
