Available Sessions
A first-generation college student is when neither of the students’ parents completed 4-year degree. Currently, 15% of enrolled students at Gonzaga are first-generation. Being first-generation comes with exciting new opportunities and experiences. At the same time, there are challenges and obstacles that students may face. Join Alfonso Miranda, Program Coordinator for the Unity Multicultural Education Center, to learn about his own personal experience of being a first-generation college student and ways in which our students have overcome challenges. Deb Ellis, Program Manager for the Unity Multicultural Education Center, will also provide us with an inside scoop of the resources and support available for you to continue your success at Gonzaga University.

Learn about the differences between federal, state, and institutional work study, the types of jobs on campus, and how to find them. Financial aid counselors are available for one-on-one appointments over the phone or via Zoom! If you'd like to meet with a counselor to discuss your financial aid award, please schedule a one-on-one appointment.
