The past year in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) was defined by transformative growth and innovation, highlighted by the hiring of new tenure-track faculty, expanded staff to support hands-on learning in the Cadwell Maker Center and Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC), and the completion of the Center for Materials Research (CMR) and Biomedical Engineering Laboratory Suite. These advancements—made possible through generous benefaction, external funding, and partnerships—enhance Gonzaga’s ability to educate future engineers and scientists while advancing research that benefits society. Beyond facilities and faculty, SEAS launched impactful opportunities for students and the community, including the new Gonzaga Research Opportunities in Math, Engineering, and Computer Science (GRO-MECS) program, which opened pathways to undergraduate research, and the SEAS Summer Immersion Program (SSIP), which welcomed high school students into lab rotations that inspired future Zags, demonstrating SEAS’s leadership in innovation and education.
