The Digital Media Production major is a hands-on, professionally focused degree that equips students with technical expertise and a theoretical foundation in the making of video, audio, television, cinema, and radio. The major prepares students for a multitude of career pathways that include broadcast journalism, filmmaking, podcast production, and video content creation.
Our program instills a deep understanding of media production from a technical, creative, ethical, and analytical perspective. It offers an experiential education while examining the theoretical underpinnings that make for meaningful and substantive media products. From day one, students will be actively producing media; from short films to podcasts to news broadcasts.
Digital media production is a growth industry with a wide range of professional opportunities. From entertainment to education to advertising to news, digital media touches every aspect of modern life.
