Recruiting

There are many ways to recruit our students on campus and off. Gonzaga University Career & Professional Development uses an online recruiting system called ZagsIgnite. Sign up or log in to your employer account by going to ZagsIgnite. 1. Conduct On-Campus Interviews

Two Types of On-Campus Interviews:

  • "Pre-select scheduling" allows employers to preview (pre-select) résumés in advance and then select candidates to be interviewed. Please schedule 6 weeks in advance.
  • "Open Scheduling" allows students to sign-up for interview time slots, according to specified criteria, with no previewing option. Please schedule 4 weeks in advance.

On-campus Interviews are held during fall and spring semesters.

2. Attend a Career Fair.

Career fairs provide a useful opportunity to meet many students in one location. They also allow for branding of your company name, products, and services.

View on-campus Career Fairs and other recruitment opportunities scheduled for the current or upcoming academic year.

Registration for all fairs is available through ZagsIgnite.

3. Set up an information table in the University Center.

Tables may be scheduled weekdays during fall and spring semester in the Hemmingson University Center. To schedule an Information Table, call (509) 313-6942.

4. Hold an information session.

Information Sessions can be scheduled weekdays in fall and spring. An information session is an opportunity to provide an overview of your organization. Refreshments can be arranged by Sodexo catering. Call Career & Professional Development at (509) 313-4234 to schedule.

5. Volunteer to help at Speed Mock Interviews.

Career & Professional Development conducts a mock interview program for students and alumni one to two times per year. These opportunities provide a opportunity for students to polish interview skills and employers to meet and help students. If you would like to participate in the Speed Mock Interviews, call Career & Professional Development at (509) 313-4234.

6. Become a mentor.

The Gonzaga Alumni Mentor Program (GAMP) invites employers and friends to mentor current Gonzaga students. It's a great opportunity to share career information, provide tips on job hunting, or help students prepare for the transition into the professional world. Register on ZagsConnect.

7. Advertise in the school newspaper.

If you would like to advertise in the Bulletin, our student newspaper, please view the advertisement rates in their media kit and/or contact their office at adoffice@gonzaga.edu or (509) 313-6839. Please review the advertisement options with the Bulletin staff, and always feel free to contact our office with any questions.

Career & Professional Development coordinates several career fairs, primarily in the fall semester (although our largest career fair takes place in the spring), every year. Fairs include:

  • the Accounting Career Fair (in partnership with the Accounting Honor Society, Beta Alpha Psi),
  • the All Majors Career & Internship Fair,
  • the Engineering & Computer Science Career & Internship Fair,
  • the Undergraduate Nursing Career Fair,
  • the Post-Grad Service Career Fair (in partnership with the Center for Community Engagement), and
  • the FUSE Career Fair (in partnership with Eastern Washington University, Whitworth University, and WSU - Spokane).

We also coordinate two career fairs in tandem with our Treks in January. Those are:

  • the Portland Trek Career Fair
  • the Seattle Trek Career Fair

Registration for the fairs is available through ZagsIgnite. Please note that some fairs may not be open for registration until the applicable semester. For questions about the schedule and registration, please feel free to reach out to us.

 

Career & Professional Development conducts mock interview events for students and alumni one to two times per year, typically prior to career fairs. These events provide an opportunity for students to polish their interviewing and networking skills, and employers to meet with and help students. Tables may be scheduled weekdays during fall and spring semesters in the Hemmingson University Center, and are coordinated through the Gonzaga University Event Services Team (GUEST). To schedule an Information Table, call (509) 313-6942.
