Academic Programs

Degree Programs
Gonzaga University's Religious Studies Department offers a Master of Arts in Religious Studies with concentrations in Theological Foundations, Biblical Studies and Spirituality. Classroom style respects adult learners, and small classes permit personalized attention and extensive interaction.
The Religious Department's full-time faculty are women and men, laity, religious, and clergy, with doctoral degrees from various areas of the United States and Europe. Their faith vision integrates theology with shared experience, faith that does justice, faith that builds community, faith that forms ministers who are faithful disciples. They emphasize leadership for collaborative ministry and a ministering Church that responds to needs of local churches and people throughout the world.
Sabbatical and Audit Programs
Theological courses are taught by the excellent Religious Studies faculty at Gonzaga University, along with expert instruction from international, visiting faculty. Presentations are given by certified people living within our area and others who come from afar. The aim of our academic opportunities is to allow you to develop an informed, reflective, and articulate consciousness of your faith in the context of the contemporary world. As a sabbatical student, you may take four courses each semester and two in the summer session. The courses are noncredit, with no written assignments or exams required. An academic advisor will help you choose appropriate courses for your sabbatical experience.
