Why are you in admissions at Gonzaga?
One of my favorite parts of the Gonzaga Mission is that we are called to be people with and for others. This truly is the Gonzaga way, where community involvement, connection, and care are at the forefront. Gonzaga is a special place that encourages students to grow into well-rounded individuals and lifelong learners. My passion for helping others and working with students has led me to the Office of Admission. My goal is to interact with students and walk with them as they explore what being a Zag might look like for them!
What’s your favorite place on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the little quad between the St. Aloysius Church and the Robinson House. There are benches that face the church, making it a great spot to admire the architecture and beauty of St. Als! I particularly enjoy sitting out there right before sunset, because the sun rays shine between the iconic crosses above the building. You can also spot Bulldog Alley from there, so you can see the flow of students bringing life and energy to campus.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Spokane?
I love spending time outdoors and finding local events to attend in Spokane. In the summers, I spend time at Bowl and Pitcher swimming in the river, and they also have hiking trails to explore. I'm a big fan of being outside and soaking up the sun, so you can find me playing yard games or tossing the frisbee around with friends! I also enjoy going to local markets in Kendall Yards, the South Hill, and downtown. They are a great opportunity to learn about local artists, farmers, and entrepreneurs and really help me feel connected with the Spokane community!
Advice for prospective students:
Embrace the unknown that comes with being in college, and remind yourself that you're allowed to change your mind! People's paths are rarely linear, and it might take time to find your interests and passions. With that, lead with curiosity, and try things that might be out of your comfort zone. There are so many incredible clubs, organizations, and groups on campus to get involved with. Be kind to yourself, say yes often, and support one another!
