Through dance the wingless can fly, songs can saturate the soul and bodies can become expressions of poetry.
You are invited to join in the establishment of the Suzanne Ostersmith Dance Endowment, which honors the impact of Gonzaga’s Academic Dance program founder and current Dance Director and Assistance Professor of Theater and Dance.
Since founding the program in 2000, Ostersmith has directed and choreographed more than 25 stage productions, along with annual dance concerts. In a truly Jesuit fashion, she has developed opportunities for students to discover and develop their own creative expressions through such programs as ZagDance free afterschool dance program and Dance for Parkinson’s. With the newly established dance major at Gonzaga, now is an ideal time to celebrate Ostersmith’s impact.
Your gift will help students learn from professional dance companies brought to Gonzaga’s new Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center which will expose students to:
- Opportunities to work behind the scenes in professional dance productions
- Master classes and workshops
- Local school lecture demonstrations
Your gift today will be matched, dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000 because of the generosity of an anonymous donor who has pledged to help encourage others to support students in the Dance program. You will empower Gonzaga’s Dance program to serve as the premier dance presenter of the region. Thank you for your commitment to Gonzaga University and for your consideration of this request.
