Remote Mentors

A remote mentor is one who does not work at Gonzaga and perhaps does not even
live in Spokane.

A remote mentor can often provide a fresh perspective and more objective advice than a mentor who works close by. A remote member could be a member of a professional organization, a colleague at another university or other professional with whom the protégé has a personal or professional relationship.

Scan the external environment for remote mentors. Is there someone you see each year at a conference? Is there a colleague at another university with whom you work on research? With whom do you say in touch? Ask this person to give you a fresh perspective on events at Gonzaga.
