FAQs About Orientation

Orientation begins Wednesday, August 26 through Monday, August 31, 2020. It will be a full of activities, so prepare yourself for a once in a lifetime experience!
Only the best people you will ever meet! During Orientation, you will be assigned to a Small Group, led by upperclass Zags who are our Orientation Leaders. They have been trained during the summer to ensure that you will have a successful transition into college life. You'll meet with your Small Group throughout the weekend, and they're a great resource to learn the ins and outs of GU.
Our Parent & Family Relations office welcomes your families to an orientation experience that runs parallel to New Student Orientation. For more information and Registration, please visit the  Parent & Family Orientation website.
Watch your ZagMail in early June for an email inviting you to select the building, room and roommate you would like to live with for the academic year from space available at that time. Students who do not select by June 19 will be assigned a building, room and roommate by the Housing Office. For more information visit www.gonzaga.edu/movein
Your first-semester course schedule will be constructed for you by Academic Advising and Assistance, based on the information you provide in the Academic Interest Survey, as well as your academic profile and history. To learn more, please visit our website at www.gonzaga.edu/froshregistration. For all subsequent semesters, you will register for courses on your own, through Zagweb.
Yes, perhaps. Once you receive your schedule, if you have questions or concerns, plan to either call, e-mail or visit Academic Advising and Assistance during Schedule Change times during Orientation Weekend. We will listen to your concerns and review your schedule with you to see if changes are necessary and/or possible. Our first priority is registering you for a first semester that sets you on a four-year path to graduation. If that requires schedule changes, we will gladly make them. Visit Academic Advising & Assistance for more information about schedule changes.
Jobs will begin being posted in August, so at that time you can check the “Student Employment Website”. Keep checking the site as new positions are added constantly.
