Upper Division Housing Selection

Housing applications for the 2027-2028 academic year open October 2026, in ZagLiving.

Upper Division Housing Selection will take place in November 2026 and includes both Kennedy Apartments and Gonzaga-owned off-campus rental properties.

Students who wish to participate in housing selection must submit their housing application by the published deadline in order to receive a selection timeslot.

Housing Terms

Upper Division housing options are offered for the standard academic year term or individual semester.

This includes:

  • Kennedy Apartments
  • Gonzaga-owned off-campus rental properties

Students may apply for:

  • Academic Year (Fall and Spring Semesters)
  • Fall semester only

Who Is Considered an Upper Division Student?

Housing & Residence Life does not use academic standing (junior, senior, etc.) to determine housing classification.

You are considered an Upper Division student if you:

  • Have already turned 21, or will turn 21 by October 1, 2027, OR
  • Have lived on campus for four semesters at Gonzaga, or lived on campus at another institution before transferring to Gonzaga.

Please note: Students who spend a semester or longer away from Gonzaga's main Spokane campus due to study abroad, leave of absence, or similar circumstances are not guaranteed additional semesters of on-campus housing beyond the residency requirement.

Housing Selection Timeline

October  2026

  • Housing applications open in ZagLiving.

November 2026

  • Housing selection takes place for eligible Upper Division students.
  • Students select available housing during their assigned selection timeslot.

Additional dates, deadlines, and selection instructions will be communicated through ZagLiving and Zagmail.

Selection Timeslots

Students who submit their housing application by the published deadline will receive a randomly assigned selection timeslot.

Students who submit applications after the deadline may receive a later timeslot.

Roommate Groups

Students hoping to live together should create a roommate group during the application process.

To participate in a roommate group:

  1. Each student must complete a housing application.
  2. Students must form a roommate group in ZagLiving.
  3. All group members must meet Upper Division eligibility requirements.

During room selection, roommate groups can select housing together if space is available to accommodate the entire group.

Housing Options

Kennedy Apartments

Kennedy Apartments offer apartment-style living on Gonzaga's campus for Upper Division students.

Apartment Features

Apartment furnishings vary by floor:

2nd and 3rd Floor Apartments

  • Two twin size beds in each bedroom.
  • Beds may be arranged separately or pushed together to create a king-size sleeping arrangement.

4th and 5th Floor Apartments

  • Full-size beds in each bedroom.

Gonzaga-Owned Off-Campus Rental Properties

Gonzaga also offers a limited number of university-managed rental properties located off campus.

These properties provide students with an independent living experience while remaining connected to the University's housing program.

Important Information

  • Fewer than 75 students are housed in Gonzaga-owned rental properties each year.
  • All residents must be Upper Division students and enrolled at Gonzaga for the term they intend to reside in the property.

Housing Agreement & Cancellation

Students who participate in housing selection and successfully reserve a space in Kennedy Apartments or a Gonzaga-owned off-campus rental property enter into a housing agreement with the University.

Students who later choose to cancel their housing assignment may be subject to applicable contract cancellation penalties and fees, in accordance with the Housing & Residence Life Terms and Conditions in effect for that academic year.
