Room Swap & Shop

Room Swap & Shop is an opportunity for students to explore available spaces in any residence hall or swap rooms with another resident before moving to campus. This process is designed to help students make changes to their housing assignment prior to move-in day.

After students move into their assigned space, any room change requests must be completed through the Room Change Process, which follows different procedures and timelines.

Room Swap & Shop Options

Swap Options allow you to request a room currently assigned to another resident.

If the other resident accepts your request, you will be notified to review and confirm the swap. The room change is not finalized until both students have completed the required approvals.

Vacant Options display rooms that are currently unoccupied and available for selection.

This process is similar to Room Selection. You can browse eligible vacancies and select a new room that better fits your preferences.

Important Information

• Room Swap & Shop is only available before students move into their assigned residence hall room.
• Room swaps are final. Once completed, a room swap cannot be reversed.
• Each student must participate individually. A roommate group leader cannot complete a room swap on behalf of other students.
• Students wishing to move together must each submit their own requests and identify vacancies that can accommodate all members of the group.
• Once a room change or swap is completed, your updated assignment and roommate information will appear under My Assignment.
