Experience Life Abroad
As a MA TESOL student, you have the opportunity to study abroad during one of your two summer semesters. Our unique study-abroad options offer theory and methods in second language acquisitions, practical hands-on teaching experience and survival language skills in the language of the host country. You will participate in authentic cultural excursions and have meaningful contact with our hosts.
A new site is determined by the department each year. Previous sites have included: Colombia, Japan, Italy, Poland and Peru.
The next Study Abroad opportunity is in Summer 2024, details will be announced at a later date.
Study Abroad Curriculum
- MTSL 501 Theory & Practice of Language Teaching - 3 credits
- MTSL 580 English as a Foreign Language Camp - 1 credit
For Master’s students, these courses are transferable for the Summer Institute credits.
