Rebecca’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in tech was sparked during her undergraduate studies after attending the Google Workshop for Women Engineers. This pivotal experience led her to become a driving force in the Spokane tech community. In 2017, she founded Future Ada, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting inclusivity in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics).
Rebecca was honored as EWU’s 2018 Inspirational Young Alumna and the Spokane YWCA’s 2018 Young Woman of Achievement. She continues to serve the community through roles on advisory boards for Spokane Public Schools, Spokane Community College, and EWU—where she is Vice Chair of the Computer Science & Cybersecurity Professional Advisory Board. At ENGIE Impact, she also co-leads EllxTech, a digital focus group within Ellxvate, the company’s women’s employee resource group, working to empower and uplift women in technology.
In recent years, Rebecca has expanded her advocacy to civic life, bringing her strategic mindset and collaborative leadership to local government. She is currently running for Cheney City Council, committed to building a more vibrant, inclusive, and future-ready community.
