Clinical Experiences

BCBA student works with child in clinical experience

Students gain experience hours at behavioral clinics in the Spokane area. In prior years majority of our students held at least one paid position while they gained their hours. These positions allow students to gain supervised direct and indirect fieldwork directly with the population they hope to work with.

Faculty will support students in finding a clinic to gain experience/field hours. In addition to fieldwork hours outside of school, students will gain clinical experience working directly with faculty while in the program. These opportunities may vary depending on client need and faculty specialty but can range from feeding to problem behavior to tic disorders.

Nicole with faculty

Nicole, Class of '17 & '23

"I completed my practicum with Dixie Parry at Shadle Park High School. I worked with Dixie in her DI classroom and it is an experience I refer to constantly in my work life. Although I work with younger students now, I will always cherish my time in high school. I still communicate with Dixie, she was even a reference for me in obtaining my most recent job! Knowing that I can always reach out to her made jumping into my career so much easier. During my practicum, Dixie always ensured that I was supported, but also allowed me to make mistakes and work through challenges in order for me to grow."
