Academic Convocation Student Speaker

The Academic Convocation Student Speaker exemplifies academic excellence, intellectual competence, and education for the common good.

Academic Convocation focuses on the hopes and aspirations of First-Year Students as they begin their university journey. The event traditionally takes place in St. Aloysius Parish on the last day of New Student Orientation. For this coming year, Convocation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 before classes begin and it is a mandatory event for all incoming new Zags. Gonzaga's Provost and Senior Vice President will act as the Master of Ceremonies in formally presenting the Class of 2026 to the university faculty. A faculty member and one exceptional senior student speaker will share their thoughts on the Gonzaga academic experience.

Students do not have to be nominated to apply.

* The student speaker must be a current Junior student who is graduating in 2023 *
