Admission Deadlines

Our graduate and doctoral programs each have different application deadlines throughout the year. Please find your program below to get more specific date information. Programs are sorted by academic department for easy reference. If you have any questions, please contact our graduate admissions office. 

Department of Counselor Education  

M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, M.A. in Marriage & Family Counseling, and M.A. in School Counseling

The priority deadline for these programs is January 15. Applications may remain open after this date, but recruitment will end once our cohorts have reached capacity, so act quickly. Due to the competitive nature of these programs, the early admission deadline is strongly encouraged in order to maximize consideration of your application. Cohorts will likely fill before the final deadline, so act quickly!

Master of Counselling (Canada)

The application for our Fall 2019 cohort in Kelowna, BC, is now open and the priority application deadline is January 15, 2019. We will hold site-based, in-person interviews in Kelowna in March. The application for our Fall 2020 cohort in Calgary, AB, will open in Fall 2019. 

Department of Leadership & Administration  

M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (online), M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (B.C.), M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (AB), and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (Washington)

For the M.Ed in Educational Leadership (online) degree, the priority application deadline is November 15. AT that time, the department will begin their review of candidates and begin making offers of admission. Recruitment will end once our cohort has reached capacity, so act quickly! 

We are not currently accepting applications for our site-based Master's programs. We encourage anyone interested in Educational Leadership to consider our online program.

Doctor of Educational Leadership

The final application deadline is January 31, 2019.  All materials must be received by this date. Our faculty will commence with initial review of complete applicants after the deadline date. If selected, you may be invited to interview with the department in February 2019.  If offered admission, April 15, 2019, is the deadline to confirm your acceptance and intention to join our program. 

Principal Certification

The priority application deadline is October 15. At this time, the committee will begin review to select candidates for an on-campus interview. The final application deadline is November 1. At this time, the application will be closed and no further materials will be accepted. Any incomplete applications will not be accepted for consideration. 

Department of Teacher Education 

Master of Initial Teaching (Elementary) and Master of Initial Teaching (Secondary)

March 15, 2019, is the priority deadline, but the program will review and offer admissions beginning in late Fall 2018. The final application deadline is May 1, 2019, unless program capacity has been reached prior to this date. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible. Classroom placements are arranged as candidates confirm their acceptance, so the sooner you are accepted and confirm, the higher the likelihood of your preferred placement

M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (MA-TESL)

Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. This program admits for three start terms per year – fall, spring, and summer. Domestic applicants need to have all application materials submitted at least one month prior to the start of a term in order to begin. International applicants must have application materials submitted at least 6 weeks prior to the start of term.

Department of Special Education  

M. Ed. in Special Education

The priority application deadline is January 15. The regular application deadline is March 15. The final deadline is May 1, unless the program has reached cohort capacity. We strongly encourage candidates to complete their applications by the priority deadline in order to ensure consideration for our fall cohort start date.

School Psychology

Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Psychology

The priority deadline for post-master’s students is October 15. The priority application deadline for post-baccalaureate candidates is January 15.  Upon the deadline, our faculty with commence with initial review of complete applicants. If selected, you may be invited to interview with the department for admission.
