Sending any child off to college is a stressful experience.  It is especially stressful for the parents of students who have had special educational needs.  In the K-12 system, parents often find themselves struggling to get their child's needs met.  When it is time for college, most students don't give much thought to how they will obtain accommodations at University.  Parents, on the other hand, are concerned about what accommodations the University will offer and how many hoops they will have to jump through to get them in place.

We created this parent section of our website to help parents understand the differences between high school and college accommodation plans.  These  resources will also help to prepare parents understand and prepare for the adjustment and self-advocacy challenges their student may face during the transition to access an accommodation at the postsecondary level.
