What is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is a tie between my Sophomore year hall (2nd floor Welch!!) and the Kennel during a basketball game. It was so fun getting to know the girls in my hall and doing things with them around campus and Spokane like hiking, ice skating, movie watching, tie dying, and cookie decorating, among other adventures. Any any GU student will tell you there is nothing more thrilling than participating in the crazy-intense atmosphere (in the Kennel) that is created during a rivalry game!
What about your favorite place in Spokane?
Spokane has many great places to offer and while I am a definite fan of the Centennial Trail and Riverside Park, I have to say that the Knitting Factory during a fun concert may take the cake! A ton of great artists come through Spokane and it's nice to go downtown for dinner and an affordable concert.
Which class and/or professor have you enjoyed the most so far?
Tough question - there have been a few classes that I would consider to be favorites! Although it is a non-academic class, Yoga was probably the most relaxing, but I have to say that Dr. Rinehart's sociology classes in general are life-changing and wonderful. Also, Dr. Easterling's Shakespeare class opened my eyes and mind to some incredible literature, history and culture. Both professors inspired me to think differently and view the world with more awareness, and I will sign up for their classes whenever possible!
Give us a fun fact about you:
I got my pilot's license when I turned 16 and enjoy flying as a hobby!
What extra-curricular activity do you enjoy the most?
While at GU, I have enjoyed participating in the SMILE volunteering program both as a mentor and as a leader. I love interacting with the kids at local schools and helping the children as well as the mentors I lead foster healthy and lasting relationships. The activities have been a blast and volunteering at Logan Elementary School is a highlight of my week. CCASL (through which all our volunteer programs operate) in general has phenomenal programs and I am thrilled to be a part of a couple of them!
Even though you haven't left Gonzaga yet, what is your favorite memory so far?
Again, tough call! I have really enjoyed a few of the Coffeehouse nights in particular (who doesn't love an acoustic performance accompanied by some Chai?!?), and participating on the champion teams of intramural volleyball for the past 2 years has been quite spectacular!
