Mosaic House

The Mosaic House LLC is an empowering and affirming community dedicated to fostering connection, support, and celebration among Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). This residential space provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can embrace their identities, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships with peers who understand the unique challenges and triumphs of navigating college as a student of color.  

Residents are encouraged to engage in discussions on race, culture, and identity while exploring the rich histories, contributions, and resilience of communities of color. The community provides opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, and advocacy, equipping students with the tools to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

Additionally, the Mosaic House promotes holistic well-being by centering self-care, mental health, and community support. Through culturally relevant programming, dialogue, and celebration, students will have the space to uplift one another, challenge systemic barriers, and cultivate pride in their identities.

By fostering empowerment, solidarity, and personal growth, the Mosaic House LLC prepares students to be strong, engaged leaders who contribute to a more just, inclusive, and equitable campus and society.

Open to all incoming students, this community provides a space within our residence halls that promotes personal wellness, social connectedness, and academic success centering the Black, Indigenous, and Student of Color experience.

	1st Year Mosaic House LLC residents can only be roommates with residents in the following LLCs: Mosaic House LLC First in the Family House LLC International House LLC		Linked Course Required for LLC Residents: No Linked-Course is required

• Want to live in community with other Zags wanting to engage in supportive dialogue around identity development and celebration of BIPOC identities.

• Are 1st Years that want to connect and engage with staff and students who are engaging around work that supports BIPOC identifying students.

Community Learning Outcomes:

1. Cultivate Cultural Awareness and Identity Affirmation
   Students will explore and embrace their racial and cultural identities while deepening their understanding of the histories, contributions, resilience, and excellence of BIPOC communities.
2. Develop Leadership and Advocacy Skills
   Students will strengthen their ability to lead, advocate for racial equity, and navigate systemic challenges by engaging in mentorship, community dialogue, and leadership opportunities.
3. Foster Connection, Well-Being, and Collective Empowerment
   Students will build strong support networks, prioritize self-care and mental wellness, and contribute to a community that uplifts and celebrates the diverse experiences of students of color.
