Students apply to the McKinstry Gateway Scholars Program in the fall of their sophomore year. Admission is selective and cohort-based. Freshmen are encouraged to attend info sessions and site visits to prepare. Juniors are also invited to apply in Fall 2026.
Who can apply
- Current Gonzaga SEAS students in mechanical engineering, electrical & computer engineering, and civil engineering with a construction concentration
- In the fall of the sophomore year (juniors can apply in Fall 2026 only)
- Must be in good academic standing

- A completed online application
- Resume
- Two references (GU faculty and/or recent employer)
How to apply, step by step
- Attend an info session or talk with a SEAS advisor to confirm the pathway fits your goals.
- Complete the online application when the cycle opens.
3. Ensure to submit any supporting materials before the deadline.
4. Selected students are notified and welcomed into the Scholars cohort.
