Program Team & Mentors

Gateway Scholars are supported by a team on both sides of the partnership: SEAS advisors and faculty who guide the academic path, and McKinstry professionals who mentor Scholars through real industry work.

SEAS Liaisons

SEAS liaisons and academic advisors help to align each Scholar's coursework and electives to McKinstry-relevant disciplines and provide ongoing academic and career-readiness support.
Current SEAS liaisons will be announced soon

McKinstry Mentors

McKinstry mentors are practicing engineers who meet with Scholars across the program — through info sessions and site visits early on, then more closely during the junior-year internship and senior-year coaching. Mentors will be announced in January, 2027.

How mentorship works

  • Years 1–2:  Info sessions, site visits, and early cohort touchpoints.
  • Year 3: Close mentorship on a McKinstry project team during the paid summer internship.
  • Year 4: Coaching and advanced project guidance toward a full-time offer.
