SSIP FAQ

  • Does "full scholarship" mean this is free?
  • Yes! Special thanks to the SSIP Sponsors for investing in future female engineers and computer scientists.
  • What is included?
  • Five nights lodging in a Gonzaga University dorm, daily lunch and dinner, plus breakfast snacks. Materials for all activities are included.
  • What do I need to apply?
  • The application form includes:
    • A short essay about yourself and why you want to participate in SSIP
    • A transcript sent from your high school (an unofficial version is fine)
    • A letter of support submitted by one of your current STEM teachers or a counselor. Information is available at the School Letters of Support page.
  • When will I find out if I was selected?
  • Program participants were notified by email by March 31, 2026 and confirmed acceptance of the scholarship and participation prior to April 15, 2026.
  • How many students can participate?
  • We are accommodating a total of 18 high school students (rising juniors or seniors).
  • I’m not in Spokane, are travel funds available to get to Gonzaga?
  • Small travel grants are available for accepted SSIP students. After your application is accepted, contact SEAS.
