The application for the Fall 2024 cohort is now open!

Due to the cohort nature of this program, there is one start date per year: Fall Term. More information can be found on Gonzaga's Academic Calendar & Resources page.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

 

Program Qualifications

Successful completion of the following courses (or equivalent) at either the undergraduate or graduate level is highly recommended. These courses will provide foundational information and may be useful for certification exams:

  • Introductory Psychology
  • Child Development
  • Research Methods
  • Statistics
  • Abnormal Psychology

GPA Requirements

  • Minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.0
  • Minimum Graduate GPA of 3.5 (if applicable)
  • If your cumulative GPA falls below a 3.0 please include an explanation of GPA statement in your application.

If documents have been generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI), your application may be denied.

Official Transcripts

Submit one official transcript from each college or university listed on your application.

If you previously attended Gonzaga or are a current student, GU transcripts are ordered by your Admissions Counselor on your behalf.

Letter(s) of Recommendation

Provide three professional recommender(s) who can evaluate your leadership, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, judgment, professional practice and your ability and capacity to complete a graduate degree. Supervisors or past professors are great choices for recommenders. Letters of recommendation are facilitated through the online application. Recommendations from family members are not accepted.

Statement of Purpose

Submit an essay, in your own words, answering why you are interested in joining the Ed Specialist in School Psychology program.

Resumé

Submit your current resumé or curriculum vitae of professional experience.

First-Generation Scholarship Application

We are proud to announce the inaugural First-Generation Scholarship. In order to be eligible to apply, neither parent can hold a bachelor’s degree. If applicable, please answer the following questions and attach the document to your application upon submission. Each response should not exceed one page single-spaced.

1) Describe the barriers to post-secondary education that you have experienced.

2) What are the support systems that you have had to utilize to successfully complete your undergraduate degree?

3) If awarded this scholarship, please describe how the financial support would help you achieve your personal/professional goals.

Interview

You may be invited for an interview. This will be arranged by the department after submission of your application materials.
