Center for Teaching and Advising (CTA)

Consistent with Gonzaga’s Ignatian heritage, the Center for Teaching and Advising (CTA) advances a culture of reflective practice in teaching and advising at Gonzaga. This helps develop better teachers – and in turn benefits our students.

About The CTA Department

The Center fosters a vibrant campus community by supporting conversations about, and the development and recognition of, excellent teaching and advising. In addition, it increases the knowledge of faculty members through resources available on-and off-campus, and creates and supports scholarly communities dedicated to learning and applying best practices.

We do this by making the following commitments to faculty across career stages:

  1. We will support faculty members’ ongoing development as teachers and advisors by providing high-quality, relevant programming.
  2. We will support faculty members’ ongoing development as teachers and advisors by assisting faculty to access resources related to teaching and advising on and off campus.
  3. We will support faculty members’ ongoing development as teachers and advisors by maintaining and developing communities of inquiry about best practices.
  4. We will support faculty members’ ongoing development as teachers and advisors by pursuing opportunities for faculty to gain recognition for committed and innovative work with our students..
