Veterans Day Celebrations

Since the founding of our country, millions of courageous men and women have entered the military and, in some cases, risked their lives to serve and defend our nation. We, as a University, are humbled by, and proud of, the many members of our community who have served and made personal sacrifices involved with military service. We would like to take this opportunity to personally thank our student and employee veterans, and express our gratitude for the numerous family members within this community who have also made significant sacrifices in support of loved ones who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States.

In recognition of the important service that our military provides, in times of peace and in times of conflict, the University community will join together with people across the country on Tuesday, November 10, and Wednesday, November 11, to honor our Veterans, recognize their commitment, and learn from their experiences. We plan to host New Student Orientation as scheduled. Already, a number of events that were previously scheduled to take place are being moved indoors, and contingency plans are being put in place for those events that may require a change of venue. Any changes to the Orientation Weekend schedule due to the air quality (i.e. moving an event indoors) will be communicated via Gonzaga Orientation and through signs posted at events.

We invite you to please join us at these campus-wide events as we honor and thank the many veterans in our Zag community and throughout the nation:
