Description: Child care for a 9 and 7 year old. The 9 year old is mildly disabled and will need to be driven to three or four appointments a week. You will also need to do some exercises with him 3 times a week and record a few metrics, it's easy. We will be in Seattle from July 4-August 8, so you would have that time off, but the base pay is higher than most and should make up the shortfall.
Qualifications: I need a very patient, very fun, nanny for the summer and, if it works out, until you graduate. You have to like being outside, enjoy quirky, intensely cool, kids, and be really organized. It will be 30-40 hours a week in the summer, then 20ish in the fall. Labor - SUMMER Fishing Boat Deckhand

Description: I need one deckhand on a salmon fishing tender in Alaska. The hours are long but the work is pretty easy. We are on the open ocean at times so applicants need strong stomachs. On my boat you will learn how to navigate a vessel, you will learn how to identify many different species of fish, you will learn some basic engineering and maintenance, you will learn some great seafood recipes, etc. We work 7 days a week for approximately 11 weeks starting in mid June and some days are long, but we get some down time and usually 1-2 nights a week in town. We live on the boat so housing is free and all of our groceries are paid for as well. Also, it is possible to put aside 50-100lbs of salmon, steelhead, halibut, crab and shrimp to take home at the end of the season. I worked on a similar vessel during summers while I attended GU. It is a job and we work hard but we also have a lot of fun.
