Scholarships

New Students
Gonzaga offers opportunities for special, merit-based scholarships for new students that require a separate application. Click here for a list of all the scholarships opportunities for Gonzaga students.
Continuing Students
Continuing Students are encouraged to check with their academic advisor or department chair for merit-based scholarships that require a separate application.
Merit Scholarships
Many students admitted to Gonzaga will receive scholarships on the basis of academic merit. These scholarships are awarded by the Office of Admission and are based on numerous factors, including high school grade point average, co-curricular activities and involvement, standardized test scores, and high school teacher/counselor recommendations. These scholarships are renewable as established by the Gonzaga Guarantee.

Outside Scholarship Opportunities
Outside scholarships, or scholarships not specific to Gonzaga University students, are widely available through many different sources. The Financial Aid Office maintains a scholarship database, which contains scholarships we feel are a good fit for our students. The database of outside scholarships can be viewed here. The database will be updated when new scholarships become available. Eligibility requirements and application deadlines may change without our knowledge. We advise students to thoroughly research an organization prior to submitting a scholarship application. Any student using the Internet to apply for scholarships should be aware of possible scams. Please be aware that you should never pay for scholarship information.
Other opportunities exist through many organizations within your community, and we encourage you to pursue them whenever possible. Contact your guidance counselor or check with service organizations such as Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, and Elks Club. Other possible sponsors include employers, parent's employers, trade associations, banks, credit unions, corporations, schools, and churches.
There are also free national scholarship search engines that provide scholarship information. Some of the scholarship search websites are listed below.
