What is your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus is hands down the Crosby Student Center.  I don't know if there is a more welcoming place anywhere on this earth.  It has everything you could ever need - coffee, Career Center, University Ministry, couches, tables to play bananagrams, the New York Times so you can do crosswords, the Mail Room.  I could probably live there pretty comfortably if I needed to.  Mostly though, I Just love being able to take a quick walk through Crosby and visibly see the reason I love Gonzaga the most: our community.

What about your favorite place in Spokane?

My favorite place in Spokane is not exactly in Spokane, but it's close enough.  It's Greenbluff, the hill right north of town that is covered by fruit orchards and other farms.  I will eat just about anything that is made from apples and I can guarantee you that they sell the best apple pie, applesauce, apple cider, etc. in the world.  It is just a blast to spend fall weekends there with your friends picking apples, eating good food (their pumpkin donuts are to die for!) and listening ot the live music.

Which class and/or professor have you enjoyed the most so far?

As an Engineer, I have to be honest and say my favorite class I've taken is Circuits with Fr. Tran.  Having a Jesuit as an Electrical Engineering teacher adds a philosophical approach to engineering - once he was asked where eon earth he found all these equations he was giving us.  He just smiled and said, "I prayed to God, and he sent them to me." I learned in that class that no matter what your major is, whether it is philosophy, business or engineering, you can go out into the world and make a difference doing what you are best at.

Give us a fun fact about you:

From second grade until I graduated from high school, every Friday morning before school I went out to breakfast with my dad.  Even to this day, every Friday that I'm home from college we drive on over to Le Peep, sit at table 4 and split the hen pen with eggs over easy, ham, and a raisin English muffin.

What extra-curricular activity do you enjoy the most?

During sophomore year I played on 4 different intramural teams - soccer, softball, and basketball.  Let me tell you, I have never played softball or basketball in my life.  But, honestly, even though I was absolutely horrible, and I assure you, I was, it was still one of my favorite things I did last year.  I loved being a part of a team, learning something new (or not learning as the case may have been), and getting to play just for the fun of it.

Even though you haven't left Gonzaga yet, what is your favorite memory so far?

My favorite GU memory so far would be the weekend that I led Freshman Retreat October of my sophomore year.  I remember sitting on the last night, looking at a roaring fire, surrounded by such an incredible group of people, thinking about everything I was thankful for in my life.  It was probably the first time that I truly felt at home, even though I was thousands of miles away from my home.
