Steps for Getting a Federal Work Study On-Campus Job
If you have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of your financial aid award package, follow steps 1-4.
-
Think about where you might want to work. Just about every department on campus has at least one FWS position available. Also, read through Gonzaga's Student Employment Manual.
-
Look at your class schedule and see what hours during the week you are available to work. Typically, a student will work between 12-15 hours per week in a given department.
-
After viewing the postings listed in our office or on our on-line FWS Job Board, call or visit departments of interest and setup a time to meet with them to discuss job openings.
-
Once a job has been offered to you, come back to the Student Employment Office to fill out your hiring paperwork. This includes a Hire PAR form, an I-9 and a W-4. Original documentation, such as a social security card, an unexpired passport or original or certified copy of a birth certificate, is required to complete this paperwork.
Academic Year FWS Jobs will be available August 19th.
