Eastern Washington Voters is a people-powered organization of average citizens who are passionate about strengthening democratic institutions and advancing progressive issues through the electoral process. The work: The primary responsibility of the position is to coordinate and assist volunteers as they register voters, door bell, table at events, leaflet, conduct media work, et cetera. This will mostly be in the Spokane area, but some travel is possible. Work starts the beginning of July, and will run through at least the beginning of November. The work schedule is flexible, but the applicant must be willing to work some weekends and evenings.
The position is for 20 hrs. per week. However, an additional 5 to 15 hrs per week of work is very likely. Opportunities for promotions, raises, and permanent full-time work do exist. |

Experience: Paid or volunteer political/non-profit experience is a must. Direct experience with electoral campaigns is desirable, but not necessary. The best candidates will be knowledgeable of eastern Washington, and Spokane in particular. Also, ideal candidates will have 1) demonstrated leadership experience and initiative in political, non-profit, business or another area of activity and 2) demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
