Description: We are looking for a female, non-smoking, babysitter for our 1 child (age 3 and 1/2 months), in North Spokane (Five Mile area). Expected hire date is around first week of May 2014. Duties include: Feeding (bottle feeding, will start solid foods in a few months) and burping. Diaper change (with clean up/wipe down of baby). Looking after/attending to baby (put baby to sleep, soothe baby, play games to improve gross and fine motor and other skills as needed, reading to baby, etc.). Changing clothes (as needed for baby). Bathing baby (we will first experiment with this and take it from there to either include or exclude it). Knowledge of CPR/First Aid is a plus. Tutor-Educational - Youth & Tutoring Director

Description: Purpose: To develop, plan, coordinate and lead Youth Group and the after-school Homework Club elementary tutoring program of Northwood Presbyterian Church. Responsibilities: a. In cooperation with the Christian Education Committee, plan, develop, implement and maintain Northwood ministry programs for children (1st through 6th grade), youth (grades 7-12) and their parents. This would include two main priorities: development of youth group (pre/young teen already underway and high school) and Homework Club after-school tutoring program. b. Coordinate recruitment, training, empowering and supervision of volunteer tutors, leaders and workers, as it relates to youth ministry. c. Encourage, develop and maintain Christ-like relationships with all ages of students and their families. d. Review, propose and assess curriculum in conjunction with the Reformed/Presbyterian faith and the Christian Education Committee. e. Provide communication about tutoring and youth programs to students, parents, neighbors, other staff and church congregation via weekly bulletin, monthly newsletter, email, Web site and bulletin boards. f. Update and keep a database and phone/mailing list of children and families in conjunction with the church office. g. Provide a safe environment that protects children and youth and maintains good stewardship of the church building. h. Notify church secretary of youth group and tutoring schedule (all on or off-campus events). i. Work with Christian Education Committee and volunteers to plan, promote and supervise special activities, fundraisers and mission/work trips. Promote participation in Camp Spalding, and affiliate with other Christian and denominational youth/family organizations. j. Attend monthly meetings of the Christian Education Committee and the Northwood staff and communicate any past and future activities, fundraising or budgeting needs, goals and objectives. Meet regularly with the Pastor as supervisor. k. Attend Sunday morning worship regularly at Northwood. Assist in worship as assigned by the Pastor.
Qualifications: a. Strong Christian faith with ability to communicate it through example and interactions. b. Ability to care for and relate to children, youth and adults. c. Possess good creativity, organizational ability and leadership skills. d. Be a self-starter, accomplish goals in a timely fashion, have good communication skills and be able to work with a minimum of direct supervision. e. Demonstrate at least two years of volunteer or paid staff experience in similar position, and any combination of educational or work experiences in religious/Biblical studies. f. Successful completion of the required background check. References are required.
Pay Rate: $800/month. This is a part-time position of 12 hours per week with a starting salary of $800/month (based on experience level), to begin as soon as possible.
