Unusual Financial Circumstances

Special Conditions Appeals

Each year the FAFSA collects basic information to determine your expected family contribution (EFC). Oftentimes, this calculation does not accurately reflect a family's unusual financial circumstances. Especially in this turbulent economy, many EFC's do not reflect a family's current financial situation. Our office is keenly aware that each individual has a unique situation, and this should be taken into account when determining a student's eligibility for financial aid. Gonzaga calls this process a Special Conditions Appeal.

If your family is experiencing one or more of the following situations, you may submit a Special Conditions Appeal to determine your aid eligibility after you have received your financial aid package from Gonzaga. Financial aid packages are available by the end of March.

    program of study.
