    FAQs about Music Submissions:

How do I get my music played on iZag?

We accept submissions for airplay in most genres and styles of music. While we play tunes from all decades and levels of popularity, our students love out-of-the-mainstream, independent releases. New, underrated music is a must have on iZag Radio.

Please give our students up to 2 business weeks to review and process any submissions.

Please note we are a non-commerical webcast (meaning only via internet) radio station.

Can I send something other than a CD?

    • We will accept thumb drives with digital versions, but we do not accept vinyl, cassette or other versions. You can also email us digital downloads.
    • You are welcome to include any swag as well, but this cannot be used to guarantee any air space.

What else should I include in my package or email?

    • Please provide a one-sheet description and any biographical and tour information, as well as indicating any tracks with explicit language or topics.
    • Please don’t send files larger than 15 MB in email messages. Use links instead.

Will you play my music that has explicit language or topics?

    • No, we do not play music that has explicit language or topics. While we are an internet-based radio station (webcast), we still abide by FCC regulation for educational purposes.
    • Music that has explicit language and/or topics may be pulled from our library. Clean/Radio versions are the best to send.

Can I send you a link to my music via BandCamp?

    • If you prefer to send us to a third-party site like BandCamp, you must provide us with a code for a free download. We cannot broadcast music by streaming it directly from BandCamp.

    Can I send you a Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube link to play my song/album?

    • It is against the terms and conditions of many streaming sites, including the aformentioned, to broadcast music using their sites. Streaming can be a good way to showcase your music to DJs, but it is not acceptable as a submission for our library to get air time.

If I send you my music, is it guaranteed to be played on-air?

    • Not necessarily. Submissions are for airplay consideration. Our students will decide if your music is something they like and want to play. If our students are not interested in your music, we will not force them to provide your music air time.

What are the technical standards/requirements for my submission?

    • Fully mixed and mastered WAV files (16-bit or 24-bit, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz), alongside a high-quality 320 kbps MP3 for direct downloads. Ensure all explicit lyrics are removed for a Clean Radio Edit, and embed proper metadata (Title, Artist, Album, ISRC).
