Class GPA Ranges

All enrolled students are ranked, by cumulative grade point average (GPA) after each fall and spring semester in the class level and program that applies to them. Each semester’s calculation includes all grades received by the date listed on the GPA range chart. Grades received after that date will be included in the next fall or spring semester listing.

Beginning in Fall 2021 all attending students will be given a GPA range, instead of an individual rank.

Students will be notified via email by the Law School Registrar’s Office if they are in the Top 10%, Top 25% or Top 50% of their class. Executive J.D. students are ranked as their own cohort and not with students in the three-year program. Notifications will go out by close of business one week following grade release.

In addition to notification, the Law School Registrar’s Office will publish the GPA range for the Top 10%, Top 25% and Top 50% for each class and program. Students are free to indicate this GPA range in their communications with employers, and this information is publicly available.
