In the Department of Sociology at Gonzaga, we examine how human societies work and the social issues that shape our world today.
Our program expands students' understanding of the world, the people in it, and how your personal experiences connect you to the groups to which you belong, such as family, friends, school and more. With an emphasis on building knowledge in both the theories and methodologies of sociology, we offer a dynamic undergraduate research program that helps build valuable skills in research, analysis, critical thinking, public speaking and presenting.
The program serves as an excellent foundation for futures in graduate study, law, government service, teaching and business. We offer a bachelor’s degree and minor in sociology. Our department is also home to the Criminology Program.
