Between 2019 and 2023 there have been 75 research students supported by 16 professors. 5 math majors per faculty member.

Professors have taken students to conferences such as the Joint Math Meetings, Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference, Pacific Inland Mathematics Undergraduate Conference, Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics, and the Cascadia Combinatorial Feast

Dr. Melody Alsaker
Alphonse A. & Geraldine F. Arnold Distinguished Professor
Gonzaga Research Award
Dr. Alsaker is an applied mathematician whose field of expertise deals with inverse problems and computational imaging algorithms. In her classes, Dr. Alsaker emphasizes the use of computational resources and mathematical images as teaching aides.
Tom McKenzie has published papers in the areas of number theory and graph theory. He was the chair our mathematics department for six years. Currently, he is preparing a paper for publication in the area of electrical impedance tomography and serving his second term as the faculty president.
