Twenty-four members of the Class of 2021 have chosen a year of service following their graduation from Gonzaga.

Six members of the Class of 2021 receive the University's highest honors.

Gonzaga University faculty were honored for their academic teaching, scholarship, and/or citizenship at the virtual Academic Honors Convocation May 3. Their accomplishments were particularly significant in the midst of a world pandemic.

Chair Charlita Shelton and her nine committees of Gonzaga's Pandemic Response Task Force are certainly looking at this endeavor as the Final Chapter as they create a strategic plan for a full re-opening of campus and classes in the fall, as requested by President Thayne McCulloh.

Foley Center is not your grandparents' library. Entering the building, group study spaces and computer stations dominate most of the first floor's landscape where stacks of books once stood. The variety of services offered there have exponentially increased over the past several years, and these transformations in resource services appear destined to continue.

Professor Jane Korn is retiring at the conclusion of the spring semester after a distinguished 10-year tenure at Gonzaga University School of Law as a professor and former dean. Mentor, colleague, and friend, Professor Korn has been an impactful longtime leader in our community. We extend our very best wishes for her retirement!

A construction milestone was reached when the final structural beam was placed, "topping off" the new home for the University of Washington School of Medicine-Gonzaga University Health Partnership's medical and health education, research and innovation center.

Gaby Flake, who is graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration, visited many top schools before deciding to follow her sister Alex ('16) to Gonzaga after visiting campus during a historic weekend for the University in 2017.

Her journey at Gonzaga was motivated by her immense empathy and passion for learning. From studying abroad twice to volunteering and eventually creating her own non-profit, Desautel's journey has been nothing short of revolutionary.

"This is an opportunity to not just talk about grit and perseverance, but to model it for our students. This is an opportunity to learn and grow in new ways."

Congratulations to Emily H. Geddes, recipient of the 2021 Dean's Medal for Academic Excellence! This award recognizes Geddes's academic achievement of earning the highest cumulative grade point average in the Class of 2021.
