The School of Leadership Studies was well represented in the Journal of Leadership Education's Fall 2020 issue, featuring articles from faculty who teach across multiple programs within the school.

Nurse Anesthesia's Dr. Kenn Daratha, FES, DNAP, has been awarded the E18 Research Mentor Award by the University of Washington School of Medicine. The E18 Research Mentor Award recognizes individuals for their dedicated mentorship of medical students in the conduct of scholarly work. The impact of the support upon student professional development is profound in the efforts to recruit academically minded physicians to learn, live and work in Spokane.

Essays from Gonzaga's School of Leadership Studies Alumni, faculty, and community members were published in a 2020 anthology titled Global Servant-Leadership: Wisdom, Love and Legitimate Power in the Age of Chaos. Drawing upon a diverse group of voices and contexts from around the globe, the book addresses some of the most significant leadership challenges of the twenty-first century and seeks to uncover the means for more healthy and sustainable individuals, families, organizations, and nations.

Allan Gillette ('79, mechanical engineering) joined Gonzaga's Engineering and Applied Science Executive Council this fall. As a tribute to his father ('48, electrical engineering), he also established the Robert Gillette Fund at Gonzaga as a competitive source of funding for SEAS student research projects.

Dr. Jeff Ramirez honored as a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in Nursing Dr. Jeff Ramirez, Ph.D., PMHNP, Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing, has been selected as a class of 2021 Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice (NAP) in Nursing. The National Academies of Practice is the leading organization promoting interprofessional collaboration improving quality health care. A Distinguished Fellow within NAP is a remarkable honor that distinguishes Ramirez's outstanding achievements and leadership in his profession as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Michael Larson's passion became clear to him after an apparent act of racism. Now, he lives out his mission through videography and activism.

In October 2020, Dean Jacob H. Rooksby J.D., Ph.D., was announced as a newly elected member of the American Law Institute (ALI). Rooksby is among the latest class of 36 legal professionals inducted from around the nation.
