Central Services

This area is responsible for maintaining many of the core systems at Gonzaga including servers such as GEM, Barney, Aquinas and SJ. We are also responsible for maintaining more than seventy other servers spread throughout Gonzaga providing a vast array of services, many of which are hidden to most users. Some of our services include: Maintaining central servers; Managing e-mail and file storage services; Supporting student file, web and mail services; Backup of critical user and organizational data; Disaster recovery planning and support; Maintaining AD016 and Foley Data Centers;Central data storage management;Vulnerability testing of workstations and servers; Maintaining user authentication services; Maintaining DNS and DHCP services; Supporting departments in their server administration needs; Maintaining campus listservs; Spam filtering (some is stopped, REALLY!); Printing large format reports; and scanning and scoring academic tests for faculty.
