Safety Training Opportunities

Do you have a safety concern? Do you need help designing your department's safety program? Environmental Health and Safety will customize any of the listed safety programs for your office or department on a case by case basis. Emergency Preparedness

This course provides basic information on preparation for an emergency, safety during an emergency, and after the emergency. The University emergency action plan and emergency notification system are also covered.

CPR and AED for the Workplace

This course has practical demonstrations and exercises in performing rescue breathing and CPR with an AED for adults. The EH&S CPR course covers the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and stroke and how to assess the victim as well as basic life support procedures (assess, alert & attend). In addition, foreign body airway obstructions are covered in this course.

Workplace Violence Prevention

This course teaches employees practical skills to prevent and respond properly to threats, abuse, and violent behavior that employees may face from other employees, customers, vendors, or strangers in their workplace.

General Safety Training

The EH&S department offers courses on all the programs that the University has in place. This includes ergonomics, office safety, chemical hygiene, confined space entry, fall protection, hazard communication, lockout/tagout (energy control), personal protective equipment (PPE), slip, trip & fall prevention, and welding and cutting protection.
