Doctor of Philosophy
The Graduate Student Assistantship in Philosophy is awarded competitively to the most qualified student each academic year. Applicants for the Graduate Assistantship must apply to and be accepted into the Gonzaga University Master of Arts program in Philosophy (simultaneous applications to both the M.A. program and the assistantship are permitted). While there is no deadline for admission into the Master of Arts in Philosophy program, Graduate Assistantship application letters are due no later than Monday, July 30, 2001. Applicants for the Assistantship must submit a brief letter of application with the following information:
  • brief summary of philosophical and academic experience, particular as it would prepare the student for the duties of the assistantship
  • research and administrative experience relevant to the work of the assistantship
  • other specialized skills or experience (for example, web page maintenance and design or grant-writing experience) that might be useful to the Philosophy Department
