This database allows students to explore current events that are often discussed in the classroom.  Social, political, and economic issues, as well as scientific discoveries and other popular topics are available.  Students can access the content of the database by browsing either the Current Events menu or the Topics menu.  There is also a full text search for the over 105,000 full text articles from 1,622 sources.

TOPICSearch culls articles from a wide range of sources, including periodicals, biographies, public opinion polls, book reviews, pamphlets, and government information.

Topics covered include: Aging, AIDS, Alcohol, Computers, Crime, Drugs, Education, Energy, Ethics, Family, Health, Human Rights, Multiculturalism, National Debate, People, Religion, Sports, Women, Work, World Affairs, and more.
