  • Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities - added May, 2008

    These directories provide current information on what prospective authors would need to identify places to publish, including scope/coverage, acceptance/rejection rates, number of reviewers, time required for review, availability of reviewers' comments, fees charged to review or publish the manuscript, copies required and manuscript topics as well as contact information. Search directories from the fields of education, business and/or psychology.

  • Reference Universe - added May 2008

    Reference Universe is a new type of database it searches the contents of many of the library’s collection of reference materials and helps provide better access to the wealth of material contained in our print reference collection. A search will provide detailed information on which reference books can provide information on your topic and give you the chapter and call number of the item. Unlike a library catalog, which generally provides data about reference works, this database searches the complete indexes of specific reference titles.

  • Global Road Warrior - added April, 2008

    Information and advice about international travel generally in terms of staying healthy, cellular services worldwide, travel Web-sites, currencies of the world, and other areas.  Provides specific information for  95 countries including data on customs, social life, money and banking, travel, essential terms in foreign languages, communications, business services, electrical matters, technical support, Internet connection, and business culture.

  • Opposing Viewpoints - added April, 2008

    Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center is a full-text resource covering today’s hottest social issues, from Terrorism to Endangered Species, Stem Cell Research to Gun Control. This database brings together all the information that’s needed to fully understand an issue: pro and con viewpoint articles, reference articles that provide context, full-text magazines, academic journals, and newspapers, primary source documents, government and organizational statistics, multimedia, including images and podcasts, links to hand-selected web sites, and more.

  • LexisNexis - added March, 2008
  • LexisNexis Academic provides access to full-text news, business, and legal publications, using a variety of flexible search options. One of the most heavily used databases in higher education, LexisNexis Academic is available at over 1,500 libraries serving over 8 million students and faculty.

    Access over 6,000 news, business, and legal sources. The outstanding news coverage includes deep backfiles and up-to-the-minute stories in national and regional newspapers, wire services, broadcast transcripts, international news, and non-English language sources. Use the included Company Dossier module to retrieve detailed company information and financial performance measures or identify and compare companies matching specific criteria. This product also provides access to the renowned Shepard's Citations.

  • Environment Complete - added February, 2008

Environment Complete contains more than 1,772,000 records from more than 1,660 domestic and international titles going back to the 1940s (including 1,094 active core titles) as well as more than 100 monographs. The database also contains full text for more than 600 journals, including many of the most used journals in the discipline, such as Environment (back to 1975), Ecologist, Conservation Biology, etc. Additionally, Environment Complete provides full text for more than 100 monographs, such as Encyclopedia of World Environmental History (3 volumes), Advances in Water Treatment & Environmental Management, etc.

Designed for an audience ranging from novice test consumers to experienced professionals, the MMY series contains information essential for a complete evaluation of test products within such diverse areas as psychology, education, business, and leadership. All MMY entries contain descriptive information (e.g., test purpose, publisher, pricing) and edited review(s) written by leading content area experts. To be included in the MMY, a test must be commercially available, be published in the English language, and be new or revised since it last appeared in the series. First published by Oscar K. Buros, the MMY series allows users to make knowledgeable judgments and informed selection decisions about the increasingly complex world of testing. MMY provides coverage from Volume 9 to the present.

  • Grove Art Online  - added February, 2008
  • Grove Art Online provides web access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art, ed. Jane Turner (1996, 34 vols.) and The Oxford Companion to Western Art, ed. Hugh Brigstocke (2001). It provides ongoing additions of new and updated articles, over 3,000 thumbnail art images and line drawings displayed in the text of articles, extensive image links, and sophisticated search and navigation tools

  • New Testament Abstracts - February, 2008 
  • New Testament Abstracts Online is a product of a partnership between ATLA and the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. The database is an indispensable research and bibliographic aid for scholars, librarians, clergy and students of the New Testament and its historical milieu. The database contains more than 40,000 article abstracts, 1,200 review abstracts, 14,900 book abstracts, and 50 software abstracts. Each year an additional 2,100 articles from more than 500 periodicals in numerous languages are selected for inclusion. In addition, approximately 800 current books are also summarized annually. Article coverage in the database dates back to 1985.
