EI Engineering Village

EI Engineering Village hosts several resources and databases, covering all disciplines in engineering.  Check out their "Tags + Groups" tab to see a tag cluster of the most popular and current topics on Engineering Village.

The Compendex is the default database, which is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of scientific and technical engineering research available.  While the Compendex is not a full text database, it includes millions of bibliographic citations and abstracts from thousands of engineering journals and conference proceedings.

The ENGnetBASE is another database on Engineering Village, found in the "More Search Sources" or "More Search Options" box in the lower left corner of the screen.  ENGnetBASE is a searchable database of more than 140 of the world's leading engineering handbooks.

The IHS Standards link connects to the Engineering Village 2 Standards Store, where you can search for and purchase specific engineering standards documents.

USPTO is a database of over six million United States Patent and Trademark Office records.  The database spans from January 1, 1976 to the present.

Engineering Village also includes links to the European Patent Office (Esp@cenet), Scirus (the most comprehensive science-specific web search engine, searching over 450 million web pages), and a LexisNexis News feed for topics in Engineering.

Engineering Village also offers subject-specific virtual reference services under the "Ask an Expert" tab in the upper righthand corner.  You can choose between their "Ask a Librarian" and "Ask an Engineer" email-based reference help.
