Dear Future Freshman Retreatants:
Welcome to Gonzaga! Led by members of the University Ministry team, with the help of student leaders, the Freshmen Retreat invites all Gonzaga freshmen to meet the rich heritage of a Jesuit, Catholic, liberal arts education; and specifically, to introduce students to life at Gonzaga, especially in its faith dimension. We want our Catholic students to leave better Catholics, our Protestant students to leave better Protestants and our non-Christian students to deepen their spirituality in a way that fits them. During your first few months at Gonzaga, you may experience challenges, not only spiritually, but also socially, intellectually and emotionally. We invite you to hear upperclassmen speak about how they handled similar challenges. The retreat's lighter elements include: a hike, games and live entertainment. We want all freshmen to experience this wonderful weekend of connections through friendship building, faith exploration and Jesuit education!
There is no better way to experience the powerful faith life and community at Gonzaga then on one of University Ministry's retreats. ALL faiths and traditions are welcome.
Simply choose your first and second choices on the application available in the University Ministry office Crosby Student Center (spaces are limited, and it is first come first serve), and return it with your non-refundable payment to: Gonzaga University. You won't regret it!
Available dates for the 2007-2008 year are: Sept. 28-30, Nov. 9-11, Feb. 1-3, Feb. 22-24 and March 28-30

Don't take it from us that it is a weekend to not miss, just read about what another student had to say about their experience:
The Freshman Retreat was an incredible experience. With the start of classes and the hectic adjustment to college life, it was a nice relief to get away from campus and attend the retreat. I met some of the most amazing people, and we bonded from the start. The most powerful part of the weekend, however, was the faith aspect. I experienced a spiritual high the entire weekend, and I felt I grew closer to the Lord than I had ever been. I would highly advise any freshman to take part in this awesome experience!

We look forward to seeing you on the next Freshman retreat. If you have any questions, please come and talk to us about them!
Peace in Christ
