Visitors Policy

Building Access

Visitors and alumni are welcome in Foley Library during limited hours during the regular school year (fall and spring semesters). Hours may be reduced during summer semester, academic breaks, and on University holidays.

Visitor Building Access Hours: Up to date General Public hours are available on our general Hours page.

Library Tours and Group Visits

Tours and group visits to the Foley Library highlight our curated academic collections, providing a foundation for community exploration and learning while optimizing the experience for all library users.  We offer the Spokane community a chance to explore our facilities, resources, and services. To provide the most educational and engaging experience, tours will primarily focus on the resources available in the Foley Center Library. This allows us to showcase a wider range of resources and minimize disruption to ongoing research in other library locations.

Group leaders: To arrange a library tour or group visit, please contact the library to discuss the purpose of the visit and schedule a time that works for both the group and the library. Tours and group visits that require the support of Gonzaga Library employees, such as leading tours, providing library instruction, and setting up library accounts, must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. If staffing availability is limited, we may recommend a self-guided group visit facilitated by your group leader.

Please note that during peak academic use times or limited staffing we reserve the right to deny a group tour, including self-guided group visits.

Access to Library Resources

Community members not affiliated with the University can purchase a library card at the Circulation Desk for $35. Residents of Washington State or out-of-state residents need a valid state-issued photo I.D., a current address, and a current email address. Community members under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian establish a parent/child account. Visitors may access online library resources by visiting Foley Library during open hours, remote access to library databases, Interlibrary Loan and Summit borrowing are only available to currently enrolled Gonzaga students and currently employed Gonzaga faculty and staff.
