Confocal Raman Microscope

Instrument: Horiba Xplora

Manufacturer: Horiba

General Description: The HORIBA XploRA PLUS is a confocal Raman microscope that provides chemical and structural information through inelastic light scattering. The system combines Raman spectroscopy with optical microscopy for spatial correlation of chemical composition. Confocal optics enable depth-resolved measurements and three-dimensional mapping of sample structure. Multiple laser wavelength options (532nm/765nm) accommodate various sample types and minimize fluorescence interference. Motorized stage automation facilitates large-area mapping and particle analysis workflows. The instrument features software for spectral acquisition, processing, and chemometric analysis. A cuvette adapter is included to allow for liquid sample analysis. Integration capabilities allow correlation with atomic force microscopy techniques. Applications include pharmaceutical formulation analysis, polymer characterization, material identification, biological tissue imaging, carbon material studies, semiconductor inspection, and forensic investigations across research and industrial quality control environments.
