RFC Student Staff Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
Rudolf Fitness Center's staff is responsible for the safety and well being of individuals using the entire facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Being alert at all times; preventing situations that may result in accidents or injury; administering first aid and aquatic rescues appropriately and promptly; and tactfully enforcing of facility rules and regulations.
Assist with routine pool maintenance, facility custodial duties and other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
All staff will be scheduled as a guest service host, fitness center floor crew and lifeguards to give them an opportunity to work in different areas of the Rudolf Fitness Center.
Good public relations skills must be exhibited at all times. No reading or studying will be allowed while on duty.
Work schedules will vary. In-service training will occur during the semester each one will be mandatory.
SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED:
Receives direction from Director and/or Assistant Directors
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift 45 pounds regularly and 50 to 100 pounds occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
Physical strength in back, arms and legs to be able to sweep and carry items
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch and reach constantly
Ability to work around water that contains chlorine
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years old, dependable, and have maturity and skills to meet job requirements.
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Preventing Disease Transmission certifications are required (for all applicants).
HOURLY WAGE:
$9.00 to 10.00 per hour depending on Rudolf Fitness Center experience.
