Team Captain Responsibilities

Team captains serve as the contact between the Intramural Department and their team. It is important that captains know and follow rules and policies accordingly.

Team captains or a team representative must complete all required paperwork and online information (Coaches Compliance Tests on Blackboard) or their team may be dropped from the league or reduced the number of regular season games.

Team captains are responsible for team and individual team member conduct, fans and spectators.

Team captains should ensure that all team members should  read all rules and policies.

Team captains are responsible for all team members following all rules and policies.

Team captains should inform team members of all scheduled games and re-scheduled games when necessary. Informing team members of all games will help reduce forfeits and your chance of losing the opportunity to play in the tournament.

Team captains are responsible for all players meeting the team eligibility requirements (see Eligibility and Team Rosters) and having all player's personally understand and sign the liability waiver portion of the registration form for each sport.

Team captains are responsible for completing all necessary paperwork for Replacement Players during a season.  To add a player after the registration deadline has passed, the captain must also remove a player.  Both the Replacement Player Form and a liability waiver for the individual being added to the roster must be turned in no later than 1pm on game day at the Intramural Office.

New information arises often; get in the habit of checking the Intramural web page and your GU email account for up-to-date information.
